Technical Sales Representative, Brian Lowe started training for the Detroit Free Press Marathon earlier this year. To read about Brian’s journey, click here.

For Brian’s 5th Marathon, he decided to raise money for The Hospice of Windsor/Essex County. Earlier this month Commonwealth Oil’s own number 574 completed the Marathon in an impressive 4 hours and 47 minutes!

What is even more impressive is that Brian raised over $7000 for The Hospice, through generous donations. His sister-in-law and her coworkers at Sun Media contributed $1100 to the total and his mother-in-law, Sandy DiPasquale and her sisters held a dinner at Place Concord in Windsor, Ontario that contributed $5000 to the total.

Way to go Brian! To congratulate Brian on this great accomplishment, you can e-mail him at blowe@commonwealthoil.com.

We’d like to also thank all those Distributors, Customers and Friends of Commonwealth Oil that donated.

Good Luck/Congratulations to Brian Lowe!

By combining the purchasing volumes of Indica Distributors, they create significant volume rebates to enhance their profitability. They do this through structured rebate programs with Suppliers, who in turn benefit from the Volume Growth and increased Market Share.

Brian Runs for The Hospice

0

On Sunday, October 16th, 2011, Quality Control Technician Brian Lowe will be running in the Detroit Free Press 26.2 Mile Marathon. Brian has decided, for his 4th Marathon, to run for The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County Inc.Brian Small

hospice logo   The Hospice is an amazing, not-for-profit organization that offers Support, Empowerment and Education (S.E.E.) for those who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness and their families/caregivers. Their vision is ‘an oasis of peace and comfort supporting the whole person with respect, compassion and empathy. A trusting and accessible place for all people. Committed to leadership and innovation in supportive care.‘

The Hospice Village, located in Windsor, Ontario is comprised of a Wellness Centre, Pain & Symptom Management Clinic, Solcz Family Home for Children and Families and a Residential Home. Their hollistic approach to care offers the patient and their families the utmost level of service and support through the joyous and difficult journey of life.

The Hospice is run by incredible volunteers, and all the services offered to patients and caregivers, including at home visits and professional care and support, are hospice lettercompletely free. The government does fund some of their programs, however, they are still dependant on the generosity of public and private donations to continue to provide their services free of charge. Currently they need to raise $1.4 million a year to continue to offer their incredible services. They have touched over 31,000 patients and their families since they began in 1979 and they average about 1,000 patients and families per year. The Hospice has helped many of us and we are so happy to be able to give back to this amazing cause, thanks to Brian.

blowe  Brian Lowe has participated in 3 Marathons so far and he’s only 27! He’s ran The GoodLife Fitness Toronto Marathon once and The Detroit Free Pressmotto Marathon twice. The Detroit Free Press Marathon has International appeal, traversing both downtown Detroit, Michigan in the United States and Windsor, Ontario in Canada through the Ambassador Bridge and Detroit-Windsor Tunnel. This year the event begins at 7AM and is 26.2 Miles through historic neighbourhoods, Belle Isle and along the RiverWalk. With every Marathon, Brian gives to a worthy cause. Past donations have gone to the Cancer Society and the Princess Margaret Children’s Hospital in Toronto. This year, Brian will be running for The Hospice, a charity chosen by Lab Manager, Michele who experiences first hand the benefits their services offer.

We sincerely hope you will consider giving to this worthy cause. Commonwealth Oil was overjoyed when Brian presented the idea, as many of us have been touched by family members and friends who have dealth with a life-threatening illness and found comfort in the services offered by The Hospice. As was the case with my grandmother, Rose Gerace, who, in her final weeks of battling brain cancer, stayed in the Hospice Residential Home which consists of 8 suites offering 24-hour nursing care and support. My family and I were astounded at the level of care offered, and found incredible comfort in knowing her last days were spent in this beautiful and caring environment. Fred has also felt the benefits of The Hospice. When his Father, Jack Herdman was suffering from prostate and bone cancer, he received in-home visits and care from The Hospice team of professionals. It is truly a worthy organization.

There are several ways you can give. The Hospice accepts online donations, please go to www.thehospice.ca/donation.html to give. Be sure to write ‘Brian Lowe’ in the comment section so he can be recognized for his efforts. Cheques can be sent to 2080 Ferriss Road North, Harrow, Ontario, Canada, N0R1G0 to Brian’s attention. You can also contact Brian directly at blowe@commonwealthoil.com or 1-800-265-3689 to arrange other ways in which you can give or to send Brian your well wishes. We appreciate you taking the time to consider this, and appreciate any donations you and your organization can make.
